£67,000 Play Area for Buxton

Wednesday, June 20th 2012 01:00

Work has started on a £67,000 project to refurbish a play area in Buxton.

The money will be used to remove all the old play equipment at the Cote Heath Recreation Ground and replace it with brand new items.

Equipment will include small play features for children aged nought to five plus junior equipment comprising:

- A cable way

- Single-point basket swing

- Cone climber

- Half-pod shelter

- New swings and large climbing unit

Project funding has been secured entirely by the users' group, mainly from the SITA Trust and Lafarge Cement but also from the borough council, Derbyshire County Council and its own fundraising activities.

The project is expected to take around four weeks to complete.
