Changes to Chesterfield buses

Monday, October 8th 2012 01:00

Passengers will be given 'special vouchers' in a new scheme set to be launched in Chesterfield.

Stagecoach in Chesterfield is introducing the 'Change Vouchers' when drivers are unable to provide the right change to passengers.

The vouchers can then be redeemed at the end of the journey if change has become available, from another Stagecoach bus driver or used towards the next purchase on any Stagecoach bus.

Paul Lynch, managing director at Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: "It is always appreciated when our passengers have the correct amount of money for their fare, as this allows our services to operate smoothly and avoid unnecessary delays and our drivers will always provide change if they are able to do so.

"However, there are times when unfortunately they don't have sufficient change for all transactions.  So we are delighted to be launching this new scheme allowing drivers to issue a 'Change Voucher' for the difference owed to a passenger."

The vouchers will be introduced from Sunday 18 November 2012.
