The Chatsworth behind the scenes documentary has been put forward for the National Television Awards.
The series has been nominated in the documentary category along with 16 other programmes including 56UP, Frozen Planet, One Born Every Minute and My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.
Four programmes make the shortlist to go forwards to the awards show on January 23 at the O2 Arena shown live on ITV1, with the winners chosen entirely by viewers.
‘Chatsworth’ was a three-part series of one-hour documentaries with voice over commentary by Max Beesley, aired on BBC1 in May. The film crew was granted unprecedented access to the 30,000 acre Peak District estate, the people who live and work there, the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, the Dowager Duchess (last of the famous Mitford sisters) and key characters among their 700 staff. Filmed over the entire 2011 ‘season’, the series gave an insight into the people who live and work in a world visited by many but known to only a few.
