Remploy workers in Chesterfield are set to strike against plans put in place to close their factory.
The company which provides work for people with disabilities is planning to close 36 factories across the UK including its North Derbyshire branch. The measures will put around around 1,700 jobs at risk. James Stribley from the GMB Union is disappointed that staff will be made to take compulsary redundancy and that the identities of potential buys haven't been made clear to staff. A Spokesperson for Remploy said they were disappointed by the news of strike action and they felt it may deter future buyers and existing customers.
