Chesterfield sign veteran Boa Morte

Thursday, October 11th 2012 01:00

Chesterfield have completed the signing of free agent Luis Boa Morte until at least the end of January.

The Portugese international links up with his former Fulham team mate and Spireites Goal keeping coach Mark Crossley.

The 35 year old winger won the double in 1998 with Arsenal before going on to make 28 appearances for his country.

He becomes the club's highest profile signing in recent years following spells in South Africa and Canada.

Subject to international clearance he should go straight into the squad for the visit of Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.
