Children enjoy improved play area in Bolsover

Monday, October 15th 2012 01:00

Children from Bolsover were given time off from lessons to help celebrate the re-opening of the play area on Stanfree Recreation Ground.

Pupils from Brockley School  were joined by local councillors, officers and representatives of funders for the opening ceremony this morning.

They were then the first to test out the playground's new facilities, which includes swings, climbing features and an overhead carousel.

The area was redeveloped as part of a £95,000 project by Old Bolsover Town Council, which received funding from several sources including the Veolia Environmental Trust. The site will be maintained with the help of local volunteers.

Old Bolsover Town Council's Clark, Andrew Tristram, said; "We are proud of the play provision in Bolsover and this improved play area is a worthy addition.

"It will be a real asset to the local area and a focus for hours of fun."
