All-rounder Garry Park has been released by Derbyshire County Cricket Club by mutual consent.

The decision comes after Derbyshire revealed to Park that he would not be offered a new contract at the end of the current campaign.

Park made 1000 First-Class runs in his first season at the County Ground, averaging 42.38, going onto represent Derbyshire 29 times.

The former Durham man also played an important role in the Falcons’ limited overs setup during the last three-and-a-half seasons, playing 35 List A games and scoring 547 runs at 23.78.

In the Twenty20 format, the 29-year-old averaged 27.61 from 43 appearances as well as contributing 20 wickets at 21.30.

Derbyshire Head Coach Karl Krikken said ‘I would personally like to thank Garry for his service and commitment to Derbyshire County Cricket Club since his arrival in 2008.

‘Garry has always given 100% to the cause and has been a popular member of the playing staff.

‘It goes without saying that everybody connected with the club wishes him all the very best in his future pursuits.’
