Derbyshire Police give value for money

Tuesday, October 2nd 2012 01:00

Residents in Derbyshire are receiving more for their money than other counties when it comes to their police force.

Crime in the county has fallen by just over 40% meaning there are now 41,697 fewer victims of crime than there were 9 years ago.

Other positives for the Derbyshire force were falls in the number of domestic burglaries by 61.9%, vehicle crime by 68.7%, violent crime by 17.1% and criminal damage by 34.9%.

The figuresput them in the top 4 performing forces in the country in terms of reducing crime in spite of the fact that they receive less funding than many other forces.
