It follows claims by the BBC's Panorama programme that Derbyshire Police have poor response times.
The programme suggested that Derbyshire police have poor response times and fail to meet response targets.
Derbyshire's Chief Constable Alan Goodwin said: "We strongly refute the allegation made in the Panorama programme that Derbyshire police officers fail to meet response targets.
"In common with other forces the constabulary has not monitored response times to incidents since the current Government scrapped the Policing Pledge when they came into office.
"Our officers are required to attend incidents as quickly and safely as they can but there is no target time for attendance.
"Researchers for Panorama were told that the statistics they were given showed an incomplete picture but the programme had chosen to mislead the public and take the information out of context.
"We would like to reassure residents and visitors that emergency calls are always prioritised and every effort is made to attend incidents as soon as possible."
