Police forces in the East Midlands are investigating complaints that their databases are being misused.
Derbyshire recorded 28 cases, with most of the complaints involving staff looking up details of people they knew.
Over 100 complaints were looked into and 11 employees were sacked, with a further 19 resigning.
Derbyshire Police said any complaint of misconduct was treated "very seriously" and were investigated thoroughly.
