A retired North Derbyshire resident is getting prepared for one of the biggest challenges of her life.
June Harvey, 63, is set to walk 480 miles across the Camino de Santiago or Way of Saint James. She is starting at St. Jean Pied de Port (southern France), crossing over the Pyrenees into northern Spain. She will then head west along the north of Spain, arriving in Santiago. June told Peak Fm she saw the walk as a personal challenge: "I want an adventure that I can remember when I get old." But aside from the personal reward June will get from doing the walk, she wants other to benefit from it as well, so she's decided to raise money for local charity NORSACA, which supports families affected by autism. All the sponsorship money June raises will go to the charity and she will not be using any of it to fund the walk. If you would like to donate to June's cause go to: http://mydonate.bt.com/ go to this link, then type 'June Harvey' in 'search'.
