Derbyshire will benefit from a share of £18 million to repair and improve some of its roads.
The money comes as part of the "Pitch Point" improvement schemes brought in by the Highways Agency to reduce congestion and boost local economies.
Included in the first set of improvements are Markheaton and Little Eaton roundabouts on the A38.
Work is set to start around the end of this year and the start of next. It will go on until 2015.
