Man jailed for bike robbery

Thursday, September 20th 2012 01:00

A Chesterfield man has been jailed after punching a teenager and stealing his motorbike.

Jonathan Featherstone, 24, approached the 16-year-old boy and his two friends as they were riding their off-road bikes along a disused railway line off Belmont Drive on May, 22.

Featherstone hit the victim and pushed him off his bike before threatening him if he didn’t hand it over. He then stole the bike and rode off on it.

Featherstone, of Middlecroft Road, Staveley was arrested and charged with robbery.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was jailed for 12 months following a hearing at Derby Crown Court on Friday, September 14.
