Wednesday, August 22nd 2012 01:00

Police are appealing for information about an incident in which a man received serious stab wounds.

On Sunday, August 19, police where called to a property on Butterley Mews in Ripley. Two men had entered the house at approximately 3pm. A 37-year-old man received serious stab wounds to his body and was taken to hospital. He has now been released.

One of the men was described as white, in his mid 30s, 5ft 6ins tall with a shaven head. He was wearing black jogging bottoms and a grey/black McKenzie hooded top. The other was described as, in his late 30s, 6ft 2ins tall, of a slim build with dark hair. He was wearing a stripy polo shirt and blue jeans.

Police were led to a property on South Street, Riddings, which is linked to the investigation.

The men drove off from the scene in a vehicle which was later recovered. Police are trying to trace another vehicle that is still outstanding and would like to make an appeal for anyone that saw a car driving at speed in the Riddings area on Sunday between 3pm and 4pm to contact them.

It is believed that the men have connections with the Nottingham area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Derbyshire police using the non-emergency number 101.
