More trains during the Paralympics

Friday, August 24th 2012 01:00

East Midlands Trains will be providing thousands of extra seats and running late night services through the Paralympic Games.

Almost 40,000 extra seats will be made available for people in our region who are supporting events in London.

Additional to cater for passengers attending the opening ceremony on Wednesday 29th August, two evening services will be changed to run later than normal.

Neil Micklethwaite, Customer Service Director and Commercial Director for East Midlands Trains, said: "With the Paralympic Games widely anticipated to be the best ever, we're certain that many people will take the opportunity to be part of this great event.

"We're planning to provide thousands of extra seats during these Games, and will be continuing to run our late night services which worked successfully during the Olympic Games."
