Piglets stolen in Clowne

Friday, August 24th 2012 01:00

Piglets would look similar to these when older.

A farm in North Derbyshire is concerned for the welfare of 8 pigglets that were stolen on Tuesday (21st August) evening.

Clowne Community Care Farm had 17 pigglets born on Monday night but by Wednesday morning there were only 9 left.

Staff at the farm believe the piglets were stolen to be sold on as 'micro pigs' but they are worried that they won't survive without their mother.

Anyone who has been offered a 'micro pig' or piglet is asked to contact Clowne Community Care Farm.

The piglets are described as being 'tiny' around 4 inches long and black and white in colour.
