Police officer found guilty of gross misconduct

A disciplinary hearing has found a police officer guilty of gross misconduct - despite being previously cleared by a court of killing a Matlock man.

Pc Simon Harwood admitted using unnecessary force when he hit Ian Tomlinson during G20 protests in London in 2009.

A police disciplinary hearing found Mr. Harwood - previously cleared by a court of killing Mr. Tomlinson - guilty of gross misconduct.

The 45 year old accepted his actions brought discredit on the Metropolitan Police.
