Police are appealing to the public to locate a 26-year-old Sheffield man.
South Yorkshire Police have conducted a lengthy investigation into an alleged aggravated burglary from January 2011 in Doncaster, and believe Benjamin Moffatt, 26, from Sheffield, may now be able to assist with enquiries.
On Monday, 17 January, 2011, at approximately 4pm, three men wearing masks allegedly forced entry into a flat on Jenkinson Grove, Armthorpe in Doncaster.
On gaining entry, the three men demanded money from the 19-year-old male occupant. When he advised he did not have any, he is then believed to have been assaulted by the three men before they fled the property.
Police believe it was a targeted attack and have carried out a variety of forensic examinations and numerous enquiries to identify the three men, working with both Greater Manchester and Cheshire Police, as it is believed they have connections in these parts of the country aswell as South Yorkshire.
Police would like to speak to Benjamin as they believe he may have information and be able to assist with the investigation.
DC Dan Lighton said: "There have been numerous enquiries conducted as part of this lengthy investigation to try and identify the three men involved in this particularly violent incident. The victim has been left extremely shaken following this traumatic ordeal, and we are determined to find those responsible."
Anyone who can provide information on the location of Benjamin or the incident, is asked to contact the police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 758 of 17 January, 2011.
