Road Closures - Olympic Torch Relay

Here are all the road closures in our area for 29th June as the Olympic Torch travels through North Derbyshire.

Glapwell: the route will be closed as the flame is passing through from 11.15am to 12pm.  

Bolsover: the full route will be closed as the flame is passing through the town from 11.30am to 12.30pm. See full route online.

Chesterfield: Church Way, Knifesmithgate, Rose Hill and Soresby Street will be closed to all traffic from 9am to 2pm.  

Other roads along the route will be subject to a rolling road block as the torch approaches, the effect of which will be to temporarily close roads whilst the torch passes through. 

Matlock, Darley Dale, Bakewell, Ashbourne:

Several other roads closures will happen before the Torch arrives, to help the anticipated crowds negotiate busy areas such as Matlock Bridge, which will be closed from 9am, Matlock's Steep Turnpike, closed from 10am, Dig Street in Ashbourne (closed from 4pm to 9pm) and, in Bakewell, Water Street, Water Lane and North Church Street, Aldern Way, Castle Mount Crescent and Market Street/Granby Road for the special stall market.
