Spireites take on Rovers in Capital One Cup
Chesterfield's season kicks off this evening with the visit of Tranmere Rovers to the Proact Stadium.
For many Spireites fans it will be the first chance to have a look at the likes of Marc Richards and Sam Hird who signed for the club in the summer transfer window.
Chesterfield take on the Merseysiders hoping for a repeat performance of their last meeting which ended in a win for John Sheridan's men.
