The Spireites support Soilders Charity

Chesterfield FC is this weekend supporting the 73 Engineer Regiment (Volunteers) Cycle Charity Event, in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund.

It's part of a six day fund-raising event from 1 - 6 March when the army lads are cycling the equivalent distance from their Nottingham base to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. 

This is a total of 6,000 kilometres which is being replicated using cycle machines over the six day period at six major locations in Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield and all day this Saturday they are at the Chesterfield Tesco Superstore, which is adjacent to the B2net Stadium. 

The Corps band is also performing outside the B2net before kick-off from 2.00pm of this Saturday’s Tranmere game, and there will also be a bucket collection at the match.  The Army Benevolent Fund –The Soldiers Charity gives lifetime support to soldiers, former soldiers and their families and is a very worthy cause.
