Two new hospitals for Derbyshire's mentally ill

Thursday, August 2nd 2012 01:00

Two new hospitals have opened in North Derbyshire to help people suffering from mental health issues.

Blackshale and Silkstone House opened their doors in Mastin Moor, providing a rehabilitation and recovery service for men and women with mental health problems.

They can house up to 28 people in self-contained apartments.

The Houses are owned and run by Turning Point, a social business with over 45 years experience of supporting people with mental health needs.

Jane Diver, Turning Point's Operations Manager at the new service said: "Blackshale and Silkstone House services will provide much needed community rehabilitation for people in need, the buildings are a stunning addition to the local area, the staff team are enthusiastic, highly trained and fully committed to helping the men and women achieve their recovery goals - at turning Point we turn lives around, it's something we see every day".
