Police investigating the murder of a woman in Somercotes have released the name of the victim.
Jade Riley-Ward, of Burke Drive, Somercotes, was formally identified this afternoon (Monday, September 24).
Emergency services were called to a house on Burke Drive just before 4pm on Saturday, September 22 and found the 30-year-old woman dead.
A post mortem examination carried out yesterday revealed she died from multiple stab wounds.
Detective Inspector Karen Pearson, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: "I would like to thank the public for their assistance so far in coming forward and speaking to police.
"We would still like to speak to a potential witness who may have had contact with the victim on the day of the incident in relation to the purchase of a puppy.
"I would urge this person to come forward as they may hold information that is significant to the investigation. I want to reiterate that we only want to speak to this person as a potential witness. Please contact the investigation team on the police non-emergency number 101."
A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection with her murder and is still being held by police.
Forensic examinations at the scene are continuing today.
An incident room has been set up at Alfreton and anyone who has any information that may help the police investigation should ring 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800
