RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

Recent news and sport highlights here at Peak FM include our coverage of the floods that devasted some parts of the area, also we covered a major fire at one of our region's schools. A blaze ripped through the Hunloke Park Primary in Wingerworth and we had reaction from one of the governors as well as giving out essential closure information on air. We've also had live reaction from the picket line at the recent NHS Logistics strike in Alfreton.

Our team of journalists talked live to Jenny Flood who's the regional organizer for the UNISON union.

Over the last 3 years we have raised over 60,000 for The Genesis Breast Cancer Appeal. Sales of the 2006 Peak at the Movies calendar, in aid of both Genesis and The Ashgate Hospice, raised an additional 22,000. We are currently producing our 2007 calendar which will feature men and women from the local area in Sporting poses.

EVENTS

As a station we are always at the big events across North Derbyshire. These include the Queens Park Firework Display in Chesterfield, the Matlock Bath Illuminations and Venetian Nights Festival, the Chesterfield Christmas lights switch on and also the Stand Park Firework Display on the 5th of November.

On top of all these we have a major presence at the famous Bakewell Agricultural Show each year.
